Our Executive Team

Douglas Fast
President

Douglas is responsible for developing, managing, and executing the overall strategy for Spectrum, and provides essential hands-on technical and business leadership throughout the organization. Prior to joining Spectrum, Douglas was Executive Vice President of Spectrum’s parent company, Vecima Networks Inc. During his 15 years at Vecima, Douglas was instrumental in driving the widespread adoption of software and FPGA technology throughout Vecima’s product base, and was the key architect of a number of Vecima’s most successful products. As part of his executive role, Douglas was involved in engineering leadership, organizational strategy, operations, and M&A activities, and was significantly involved in the acquisition of Spectrum. Douglas holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering (Digital Communications) from the University of Saskatchewan.

Mark Briggs
Vice President, Business Development

Mark is responsible for Spectrum's sales, marketing, and business development initiatives. He began working in communications in 1988 as a software designer for Bell-Northern Research, and has since held many roles in product development, delivery and marketing. Immediately prior to joining Spectrum in 2001, he was Director of Switch Products in the Wireless Messaging Group for Glenayre, Inc. Mark received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from McMaster University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. He has been a licensed professional engineer since 1991.

Keith La Rose
Director of Sales

Keith is responsible for direct and channel sales for Spectrum, with a focus on delivering advanced custom communications solutions to customers worldwide. Keith has held various professional sales and sales management positions throughout his decade-long sales career, and has worked for companies such as Telus Telecommunications Inc. and Absolute Software. Keith joined Spectrum in 2004 and was most recently the Manager of International Sales, where he served many of the world's leading government defense agencies and prime contractors. Keith holds a Management Skills in Advanced Technology Diploma from Simon Fraser University, as well as a Network Specialist's Diploma from CDI College of Business and Technology.

Tudor Davies
Director of Technology

Tudor is responsible for the definition and architecture of Spectrum's future products and projects, and technical oversight of existing projects. Tudor holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada, and served 20 years in the Canadian Navy as a Combat Systems Engineer. He served in engineering roles at sea, as well as in Project Management roles in the research, development and deployment of the Navy's new Sonar and EW systems. Since joining Spectrum in 1998, Tudor has served in Program Management, System Engineering and Engineering Management capacities, where he has successfully led teams to develop and deliver products to meet complex customer requirements. He has worked with industry-leading customers worldwide, in application areas including Software Defined Radio, Radar, Signal Intelligence and Industrial Control.
